Sitting room

Relax with a roaring fire, cosy Welsh blankets and a good book...

In summer with the French windows flung open, it's the perfect place to watch woodland birds using the garden and listen to the stream; in winter you can enjoy the warmth of the Clearview wood-burner and afternoon tea.

There are two sofas, leather armchair, wood burning stove, flat-screen TV, ipod dock and glass doors leading to a bank and stream.

Downstairs bathroom:

Hand basin, toilet, bath with detachable overhead shower (adjustable height).

Dining room

Small, traditional dining room with a lovely flag stone floor, wood burning stove, games cupboard, stereo with ipod dock, table and chairs with additional stools.

Kitchen

Bright, simple kitchen with white marble worktops, an integrated electric cooker and ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, kitchen table and antique dresser.


Upstairs
Upstairs there is a toilet with a hand basin. The small bedrooms have lovely views of the surrounding countryside.

Garden

The lawn is enclosed by a hedge and is a great spot for watching a wonderful variety of birds. Plum and apple trees, roses and garden herbs flourish in season. It has a bench with four garden chairs also available.

The wild garden

The rest of the land immediately around the cottage is a wild garden with masses of wild flowers, bluebells and butterflies. There's a steep bank leading down to a stream. Beyond the lawn is a wildlife pond which attracts beautiful dragonflies in summer - please note that the pond has steep sides and is deep and so would pose a danger to young children and the infirm.

Parking


 There is space to park off the road behind the cottage. We squeeze two cars in here and there's also space for a car to be parked tightly against the cottage on the lane.

  • When we say Clay Cottage sleeps 4-6, we mean it's the perfect size for up to 4 adults and 2 children; it is also ideal as a romantic holiday for two.
  • Full oil central heating, electricity and two baskets of logs are included in the price.
  • Crisp cotton bed linen and towels are provided.
  • The cottage is thoroughly cleaned prior to arrival.
  • Mobile reception is ok but check with your network first.
  • Up to 2 pets are allowed at a cost of £20 each per week. Pets must be well-behaved and should not be left unattended in the property. They are only permitted in the dining room and kitchen - in other words not in any rooms which have rugs or carpet. If damage or extra cleaning is caused by pets the guest may be billed for that charge.

  • Clay Cottage has Welsh Tourist Board rating of 2 *, “Good Quality”.
  • Please remember that spiders, insects and mice are part of country life. We cannot guarantee that you won’t see them although we do our best to ensure their absence.
